Explaining the emergence and
persistence of social order and cooperation is one of the key puzzles in the
social sciences. Our current research explores the effects of group membership on
social order and cooperation. We seek to understand under which conditions social order may increase when other groups are around. In particular, we
study effects of the social context. Do group members contribute more to group projects
if there is a conflict with other groups? Are contributions affected if your
group benefits from the success of other groups? In this project I collaborate with Jacob Dijkstra. |
